This process involves one on one counselling & generally takes place on a weekly basis, usually at the same time. The client & therapist discuss the presenting issues & together decide how best to progress.
Some of the presenting problems may include:
– Bereavement following a death
– A difficult or broken relationship
– The loss of a job
– Self-Esteem &/or Self-Confidence issues
– Depression &/or anxiety
– Substance Abuse
Some issues may only require a short duration of therapy. In these instances Claire & the client decide on goals of therapy & regularly evaluate progress. For others, the process may be longer to address the presenting issues. Though at no stage will the therapist pressure the client to explore anything that they’re uncomfortable with.
